There are some tools available to detect AI, but use caution. Many of these have high false positive rates, and students are also learning ways to use prompting to bypass detection.

My thought at this time is that AI is here to stay and we need to start adapting as a society. There are many benefits that it can bring in terms of helping us communicate more effectively with one another and leveling the playing field for kids who have not had the same amounts of opportunity. Adaptation to new technological eras comes through education, and I believe that educators play an incredibly important role in helping to shape the way that we use AI and encouraging the use of AI as a tool for good.

I really liked this infographic from AI for Education on when students should and shouldn't use AI. Having debates around the use of AI in class could open the doors for helping to set cultural norms around what is and is not acceptable.
